About the role
As our first Forward Deployed Engineer at HoneyHive, you'll be the technical bridge between our product and the AI engineers who depend on it. This is a full-cycle role where you'll drive technical sales conversations, lead customer implementations, and ensure our enterprise customers achieve maximum value from our platform.
Our customers are primarily Fortune 500 enterprises building complex agentic workflows. You'll be their trusted technical advisor, helping them navigate everything from initial evaluation to production deployment and ongoing adoption.
This is a foundational role at a fast-growing startup, which means you'll have tremendous impact in shaping how we engage with customers and scale our go-to-market efforts.
In this role, you will
Drive technical sales conversations – Lead product demos, architecture discussions, and technical qualification with prospects, create compelling proof-of-concepts, and present at conferences to evangelize our platform
Own customer implementations – Guide technical onboarding, lead on-premise and cloud deployments, ensure smooth integration with existing AI infrastructure, and troubleshoot complex technical issues
Deliver training and drive adoption – Design and conduct workshops, technical training sessions, and best practices programs to maximize customer success and identify expansion opportunities
Bridge customers and product – Translate customer feedback into product requirements, work with engineering on deployment architecture, and help establish scalable customer success processes
Our stack
We use React, Express, and NextJS for web development, AWS for all our cloud needs, and are building SDKs in Typescript and Python using OpenTelemetry (OTEL). You'll need to become an expert on how our platform integrates with diverse customer environments and tech stacks.
About you
We think you'd be a great fit if you have:
5+ years of customer-facing technical experience in software engineering, sales engineering, or technical consulting, preferably in developer tools, infrastructure, or AI/ML platforms
Applied AI expertise – Understanding of core AI engineering concepts (evals, orchestration, context engineering, etc.) with hands-on experience building AI agents
Full sales cycle experience – Proven track record in both pre-sales technical support (demos, proof-of-concepts, technical qualification) and post-sales implementation and support
Exceptional communication skills – Ability to present to both technical and business stakeholders, from individual developers to C-level executives
What sets great candidates apart:
Enterprise implementation experience – Experience with on-premise deployments, security reviews, and complex enterprise sales cycles at large enterprises (10K+ employees)
Infrastructure experience – Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Kubernetes/Terraform) and understanding of cloud networking
